Nannette Taft and Sadie Smythe crossed paths at a festival in 2014 and, four months later, founded Drink Slingers.
Both were in career transitions when a mentor offered them a shot at event bartending. With Sadie's marketing and event production background and Nannette's international education experience, they became ideal business partners.
Discovering satisfaction in enhancing special occasions – weddings, birthdays, and other meaningful celebrations – from behind the bar, they aimed to "bring the party."
They found joy in creating hassle-free spaces for hosts and providing a full-service experience, handling everything from concept to clean up.
As Drink Slingers gained popularity, Nannette and Sadie, unable to keep up with demand, expanded the team by hiring bartenders, event managers, warehouse workers, and a staff manager.
Though they no longer work behind the bar, Nannette and Sadie are committed to hiring the best and friendliest bartenders in the city, who also align with Drink Slingers' motto borrowed from Maya Angelou:
