Drink Slingers event partner spotlight ~ Dulce Vida Tequila

We recently reached out to our friend Frankie Ruiz, the Texas Field Marketing Manager for Milestone brands, which includes Dulce Vida Tequila, American Born Whiskey, American Born Moonshine & Naranja Orange Liqueur. We have had the pleasure of working with Frankie at many events around town and wanted to get a little more insight into Frankie and the brands he represents, specifically Dulce Vida Tequila.

Prior to joining Milestone Brands Frankie spent ten years as the Promotions Director for local Austin radio station 101X . This background in events and promotion led him to an opportunity with Milestone Brands, where he has been for the last two and a half years.

Drink Slingers: What do you like most about your job?

Frankie: I'm constantly getting to meet and interact with new people at each and every event.

Drink Slingers: What do you like most about working events?

Frankie: I get to introduce people to a great product, and one that I truly believe in. Our brand is always very well received and so it’s great to see my belief in the brand reinforced. There's also a great energy at events when people are having a good time that's very invigorating and helps to keep my outlook very positive day in and day out.

Drink Slingers: What sets Dulce Vida apart from other tequilas?

Frankie: Our traditional tequilas (Blanco, Reposado, Anejos) are 100% Organic. And all of our infusions are made with real fruit. We firmly believe in using real ingredients.

Drink Slingers: What is your favorite Dulce Vida cocktail?

Frankie: My favorite Dulce Vida Tequila cocktail has got to be our Paloma. It's a very simple and easy concoction that utilizes our real grapefruit infused tequila and mixes great with club soda. Just add a splash or squeeze of fresh lime juice and voila! You've got a tasty and refreshing cocktail! Not to mention that it's low calorie and low carb too!

Drink Slingers: Can you share with us a little known fact about tequila?

Frankie: Tequila is produced from harvesting the 'heart' (or 'pina' in Spanish) of the Blue Weber Agave plant, which takes up to 8 years to mature and the harvested pina can weigh between 80-200 pounds!

Drink Slingers: Thank you, Frankie! And we love the Dulce Vida Paloma too!
