We are currently seeking an enthusiastic, professional, and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Event Manager. This person must be an adaptable and collaborative team player who excels in working with diverse groups, contributing effectively to achieve common goals, and ensuring team and event success.
Job Description: As an Event Manager at Drink Slingers, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the success of our events by serving as the primary point of contact for our clients. You will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships, managing client accounts, and overseeing all aspects of event planning and execution from start to finish. Most of the work can be done from home with the option to work from our office and warehouse in North Austin. Limited travel is required around the greater Austin area.
Responsibilities:
Work several bartending shifts to get acquainted with how events run onsite.
Write initial client proposals using our CRM Tripleseat software.
Schedule and follow up with prospective client proposals.
Serve as the lead point of contact for all client and event management matters.
Adjust Contracts and agreements as necessary to accommodate client requests.
Maintain open, clear, and helpful communication with clients and event planners throughout the event planning process.
Adapt to last-minute changes to event plans due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances with flexibility.
Think critically about all aspects of the event, identifying potential challenges and proactively finding solutions.
Communicate with venue contacts to ensure our team is aware of all venue bar-related policies and expectations, and maintain an updated venue information sheet.
Create custom shopping lists to guide clients who are providing their own alcohol.
Plan signature cocktail batches for the on-site bartenders to ensure bar service is executed consistently and efficiently.
Complete Checklists for each event for the warehouse team to pack equipment, tools, decor, mixers, garnish (and sometimes alcohol) to ensure all necessary supplies and tasks are accounted for at each event.
Create custom bar menus using our templates in Canva.
Collect and file necessary documentation required by TABC for events where Drink Slingers is providing alcohol for hosted bar packages or cash bars.
Communicate all event details to the event staff before the event.
Assist warehouse team with event preparation and packing as needed.
Collaborate with the Drink Slingers Operations Manager to ensure all aspects of the event are covered and executed seamlessly, from updating our weekly order guides to updating the square POS menus for cash bars.
Participate in weekly administrative meetings.
Attend local networking events and open houses, representing our company with other event industry professionals.
Attend venue walk-throughs (as needed) to ensure we understand the layout and flow of the space.
Communicate the progress of client accounts to supervisors.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their needs are met and expectations are exceeded.
Maintain Drink Slingers’ Standard Operating Procedures for Event Managers.
Be proactive in identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance client satisfaction.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in event management or a related field preferred.
Previous experience bartending at bars, or preferably within the event industry.
Demonstrate a charismatic, creative, and passionate approach to communication.
Strong ability to work independently, demonstrating initiative and motivation to achieve goals without constant supervision.
Strong organizational and time-management abilities with the ability to work independently.
Ability to think critically, adapt, and problem-solve under pressure.
Detail-oriented with a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Docs, Tripleseat, Slack, Monday, Square, and Canva is a plus.
Must be TABC-certified, or take the course to obtain certification.
Compensation:
Pay rate begins at $25/hour plus 3% sales commission for a 30-day training probationary period, then moves up to $30/hour plus 3% sales commission with annual reviews.
Event Managers can also pick up bartending event shifts with a starting pay of $20/hr plus gratuity.
Any travel required will be compensated with a mileage reimbursement.
